【摘要】:ThisBritishStandardprovidesguidanceforanoccupationalhealthandsafety(OH&S)managementsystemortheOH&Selementsofanorganization’soverallmanagementsystem,toenableanorganizationtocontrolitsOH&SrisksandimproveitsOH&Sperformance.ItdoesnotstatespecificOH&Sperformancecriteria,nordoesitgivedetailedspecificationsforthedesignofamanagementsystem.Thisguidanceisapplicabletoanyorganizationthatwishesto:establishanOH&Smanagementsystema)tocontrolriskstopersonnelandotherinterestedpartieswhocouldbeexposedtoOH&Shazardsassociatedwithitsactivities,facilities,processesorplant;b)implement,maintainandcontinuallyimproveanOH&Smanagementsystem;c)demonstratecommitmenttogoodpractice,includingself?regulation,andcontinualimprovementinOH&Sperformance;d)assureitselfofitsconformitywithitsstatedOH&SpolicyandwithBSOHSAS18001by:1)makingaself-determinationandself-declaration;or2)seekingconfirmationofitsconformitybypartieshavinganinterestintheorganization,suchascustomers;or3)seekingconfirmationofitsself-declarationbyapartyexternaltotheorganization;or4)seekingcertification/registrationofitsOH&Smanagementsystembyanexternalorganization.AllelementsinthisstandardareintendedtobeincorporatedintoanyOH&SmanagementsystemandtoenableanorganizationtoincorporateOH&Swithinitsoverallmanagementsystem.TheextentoftheapplicationwilldependonsuchfactorsastheOH&Spolicyoftheorganization,thenatureofitsactivitiesandtherisksandcomplexityofitsoperations.Thisstandardisintendedtoaddressoccupationalhealthandsafety,andisnotintendedtoaddressotherhealthandsafetyareas,suchasworkerwellbeing/wellnessprogrammes,productsafety,propertydamageorenvironmentalimpacts.Thisstandardisintendedforusebyorganizationsofallsizes,regardlessofthenatureoftheiractivities.Itisintendedthatitsapplicationisproportionaltothecircumstancesandneedsoftheparticularorganization.Furtherguidanceforsmallandmediumenterprises(SMEs)willbeprovidedinBS18005,anewstandardinpreparation.
