【摘要】:Thequalityofgroundwaterhasbecomeanissueofnationalconcern.Ground-watermonitoringwellsareoneofthemoreimportanttoolsforevaluatingthequalityofgroundwater,delineatingcontaminationplumes,andestablishingtheintegrityofhazardousmaterialmanagementfacilities.Thegoalinsamplingground-watermonitoringwellsistoobtainsamplesthatmeettheDQOs.Thisguidediscussestheadvantagesanddisadvantagesofvariouswellsamplingmethods,equipment,andsamplepreservationtechniques.Itreviewsthevariablesthatneedtobeconsideredindevelopingavalidsamplingplan.1.1Thisguidecoverssamplingequipmentandproceduresand"inthefield"preservation,anditdoesnotincludewelllocation,depth,welldevelopment,designandconstruction,screening,oranalyticalproceduresthatalsohaveasignificantbearingonsamplingresults.Thisguideisintendedtoassistaknowledgeableprofessionalintheselectionofequipmentforobtainingrepresentativesamplesfromground-watermonitoringwellsthatarecompatiblewiththeformationsbeingsampled,thesitehydrogeology,andtheenduseofthedata.1.2Thisguideisonlyintendedtoprovideareviewofmanyofthemostcommonlyusedmethodsforcollectingground-waterqualitysamplesfrommonitoringwellsandisnotintendedtoserveasaground-watermonitoringplanforanyspecificapplication.Becauseofthelargeandeverincreasingnumberofoptionsavailable,nosingleguidecanbeviewedascomprehensive.Thepractitionermustmakeeveryefforttoensurethatthemethodsused,whetherornottheyareaddressedinthisguide,areadequatetosatisfythemonitoringobjectivesateachsite.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
