【摘要】:ThispartofISO5660examinesthelimitationsoftheconecalorimeterascurrentlyusedforbuildingproductsandrecommendswaysinwhichsomeofthesemaybeovercomeforothertypesofproductsforotherapplicationareas.Itcompilesinformationfromalargebodyofexperiencewithregardtotheuseoftheinstrumentintoasetofguidelineswhichwillhelptostandardizetheuseoftheconecalorimeterinthiswiderscope.Particularguidanceisgivenonaspectsofspecimenpreparationandonthebehaviour,suchasmelting,spallingandintumescing,ofspecimensexposedtoradiantheat.Therelevanceofspecimenthicknessandtheuseofsubstrate,andmethodsoffixingtosubstrate,arealsodiscussed.Adviceisgivenonapproachestotestingavarietyof“non-standard”products.Recommendationsaremadeontechniquesofcalibrationoftheapparatus,selectionofappropriateheatfluxlevelsandignitionprotocols.Inadditiontotheguidancegiventooperators,thedocumentmakesrecommendationsonpresentationofthetestresults.
